Over the course of some 75 years John Russell Taylor amassed an encyclopaedic collection of over 10,000 books on the fine and decorative arts, ranging from paintings, drawings, and prints to sculpture and photography, book, poster and set design, fashion and jewellery, furniture, ceramics, metalwork, and textiles, architecture and interior decoration, and illustration, artistic theory, and collecting.
